Hong Kong became a Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China in July 1997. Formerly a British dependent territory.

National and community concerns:

• Recovery after the economic crisis.

Church priorities and programmes:
• Organises mission conferences, youth camps, educational seminars and exchange visits with churches in China.
• Extending services towards families and senior citizens.
• Provide quality education through 25 secondary schools and 31 primary schools.
• Develop new congregations in the school buildings.
• Leadership development at all levels: pastors, elders, lay.

• Well involved in church activities but few are involved at decision-making levels.

Missionaries sent and received through CWM:
• Dr Archie Lee, ecumenical research placement, to Cambridge University, UK.
• Individual congregations send missionaries to developing countries.
